Indicators: oscillators (Awesome, TRIX, KST, Fisher, Schaff, Connors)
Fourteen additional oscillators live in the Momentum group: Awesome and Accelerator (Bill Williams), Ultimate Oscillator, DPO, TRIX, Know Sure Thing, RVI, Chande Momentum, Balance of Power, Schaff Trend Cycle, Connors RSI, Fisher Transform, Coppock Curve and Elder Ray. Each one names its smoothing convention and returns a gap rather than an invented value.

What it does
The family mixes four smoothing conventions and never combines two inside one study. Simple SMA: Awesome (SMA fast − SMA slow of hl2), Accelerator (AO − SMA of AO), DPO (close shifted by floor(N/2)+1 minus SMA), KST (four percent ROCs each smoothed by an SMA and weighted 1/2/3/4, plus a signal SMA) and Balance of Power (mean of (close−open)/(high−low) over bars with a range). SMA-seeded EMA: TRIX (percent change of a triple EMA), Schaff Trend Cycle (MACD stage) and Elder Ray (high − EMA and low − EMA).
Wilder smoothing is used by the two RSI components of Connors RSI (3-period price RSI, 2-period streak RSI, plus a 100-bar percent rank of one-bar returns with a strict less-than comparison). Fixed-factor exponential smoothing drives Schaff (factor 0.5 by default) and Fisher (0.67 on the normalised value, 0.5 on the transform, not adjustable). Ultimate Oscillator is a 4/2/1 weighted mean of buying pressure over true range on three horizons. RVI uses the symmetric 1-2-2-1 filter of Ehlers on close−open and high−low. Chande Momentum is a raw rolling sum, not a Wilder average. Coppock Curve is a linear WMA of two percent ROCs.

How to use it
Switch a study on from the Library groups of the Indicators panel and open its settings to adjust the periods above. Awesome and Accelerator are histograms colored by sign, not by bar-to-bar change as Bill Williams draws them; this is a documented difference of the histogram shape. KST, RVI and Elder Ray emit two lines with separate colors.
DPO is the non-centered variant: the value is plotted at the current bar but describes the bar shift positions earlier, so it should not be read as a real-time signal of the last bar.
Limits and pitfalls
- Gaps propagate: an SMA or WMA over a series containing a missing value returns nothing for that window instead of averaging a shorter one.
- Schaff and Fisher freeze their state on a flat window (max equals min) and output nothing for that bar; the last value is never carried forward.
- Fisher clamps the normalised value at ±0.999, capping the output near 7.60; without it a long directional run would produce infinity.
- Connors RSI's percent rank counts strictly lower previous returns divided by N, which differs from the percentile-rank study in the Statistics group.
- Balance of Power's effective averaging length can be shorter than N when bars without range are skipped.

Frequently asked questions
- Why does the Awesome Oscillator use the median price rather than the close?
- Bill Williams' definition uses (high + low)/2 to measure the displacement of the auction's centre on two horizons. The catalog keeps the 5/34 defaults for parity with ATAS and TradingView.
- Are the Fisher smoothing coefficients adjustable?
- No. The 0.67 and 0.5 factors are Ehlers' constants and are not exposed as parameters, so the output stays comparable with the TradingView implementation. Only the period is a setting.
