Naked POC

A naked POC is the point of control of a completed session or profile that price has not traded back through since that session closed. It stays 'naked' until a later bar's range covers it, and traders watch it as an unfinished reference level.

What makes a POC naked

Each session builds a profile and each profile has a point of control, the price with the most volume. Once the session closes, that POC becomes a fixed level. If the next sessions never trade through it, it is called a naked POC (nPOC) or virgin POC. The level is removed from the list the first time a bar's range contains it.

  • The test is on the bar range: a bar counts as a touch when low is at or below the POC and high is at or above it. Senzoukria uses this inclusive test with no tolerance.
  • The POC itself comes from the aggregated session profile; a tie between two levels resolves to the lower price.
  • A naked POC from three sessions ago and one from yesterday are both drawn as long as they remain untouched.

Why traders follow it

The POC is where the most business was done. When price leaves it without returning, that level has not been re-tested by the auction. Market Profile readers treat it as an open reference: it is a common target for a rotation and a place where a reaction is worth watching. This is a description of where activity clustered, not a prediction about what will happen when price arrives.

Reading it with orderflow

  • When price approaches a naked POC, watch the footprint at the level: an imbalance stack into the level followed by absorption reads differently from a clean trade-through.
  • A naked POC that is finally touched is 'filled'. It stops being drawn; it does not turn into support or resistance by itself.
  • Several naked POCs stacked above the current price form a ladder of untested references; the closest one usually matters first.

In Senzoukria

The 'Naked POC' overlay in the indicators list ('Structure & sessions' group) computes the POC of every past session and draws each one that has never been revisited, from the start of the following session to the right edge of the chart. A touched level is simply not emitted. The 'Market Profile (TPO)' overlay has its own 'Naked POC' toggle for TPO profiles, and the 'Extend POC / VA to next profile' option carries yesterday's POC, VAH and VAL into today until price trades through them. The 'Auto levels' option also scores naked POCs among the strongest levels of the last profiles.

Common mistakes

  • Counting a level as naked when a wick already passed through it. The bar range decides, not the close.
  • Mixing volume POCs and TPO POCs: they can sit at different prices for the same session.
  • Expecting a fill on a schedule. Some naked POCs remain untouched for weeks.

Frequently asked questions

Does a naked POC need a full session to exist?
Yes. The level is the POC of a completed profile. While the session is still building, its POC is a developing POC and can still move, so it cannot be naked yet.
Is a naked POC the same as a naked VAH or VAL?
No. The naked concept can be applied to any level of a closed profile, and some traders track untested value-area edges as well. In Senzoukria, the 'Naked POC' overlay only tracks the POC; the TPO 'Extend POC / VA to next profile' option carries the value-area edges too.
What if the data feed has a gap during the session?
A gap changes the profile, so the POC may not be the true one for that session. Senzoukria does not fill missing bars silently; check the loaded history before relying on an older naked POC.
