No. The account, its system and its entitlements are the same whichever access point you use; only the network route differs.

Which Rithmic access point should I use?

Start with Chicago (core), the default. If you are far away and see instability, try a regional access point and compare measured behaviour rather than assuming that proximity wins.

Trading gateway (access point)

A trading gateway is the network entry point through which software connects to a broker's, vendor's or exchange's systems. For a retail futures trader it usually means the vendor's server address, such as one of Rithmic's access points; choosing one changes the network route to the same systems, not the account or the data it is entitled to.

Two kinds of gateway

Vendor or broker gateway: where your application logs in, for example Rithmic's R | Protocol servers.
Exchange gateway: where the broker's or vendor's systems submit orders to the exchange, such as CME's order-entry gateways in front of its matching engines.
Retail software talks to the first; the second is behind the broker.

Rithmic's access points

Rithmic provides a core gateway in Chicago plus regional access points and one colocation-only entry. The application lists thirteen: 1 core + 11 regional sites (Cape Town, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, Ireland, Mumbai, New York, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo) + 1 colocation site (Colo75) = 13. A separate test gateway serves only the Rithmic Test system and is not one of these access points.

Choosing an access point

Every access point serves the same systems; only the route by which packets enter Rithmic's network changes. A regional entry can shorten the public-internet part of the path for a trader far from Chicago, but the traffic still has to reach the systems it talks to, and routing quality varies. The application's own advice is that the closest is not automatically the fastest: measure before you switch.

The connection wizard's Access point selector rewrites the single Gateway URL field of the profile; nothing else is stored. Chicago (core) is the default and the only path proven end to end in production. The selector is disabled for Rithmic Test, which lives on its own gateway, and a URL outside the list appears as Custom without being rewritten. 'Fetch live system list from gateway' queries the address currently entered and shows the systems it serves, and the connection diagnostic's first steps check that the gateway answers and serves the chosen system.
