Big Trades not showing: “Candle view required”, “No trades received” or “Too many trades”

The Big Trades bubbles of the Senzoukria footprint only draw in candle view, only from trades actually received, and pause when the view holds too many of them. A short line on the chart says which of the three applies.

What you see

Big Trades is enabled but no bubble appears, and a grey line at the top left of the chart reads one of: “Big Trades · Candle view required · zoom out”, “Big Trades · No trades received · {symbol}”, or “Big Trades · Too many trades in this view · zoom in to bring them back”.

Why it happens

  • Candle view required: in the cluster (footprint cell) view, bubbles would cover the bid × ask cells, so they are drawn only when the chart is zoomed out to candles.
  • No trades received: bubbles are built from real trades aggregated by time, price and side. With an empty trade buffer the app draws nothing rather than invent values. The feed may not be live, the market may be closed, or the chart may be offline.
  • Too many trades: above 120,000 bubbles in the view the display pauses to keep the frame time in budget, and resumes by itself below 100,000. Your setting is not changed.
  • On Binance USD-M perpetuals, builds before 0.23.0 could show “No trades received” because Binance moved its trade stream to a new route; 0.23.0 and later use it.

How to fix it

  • Zoom out until the chart shows candles.
  • Check the connection badge and the market hours; on a Local data chart, connect a broker.
  • Zoom in, or use a smaller timeframe, when the view is too dense.
  • On Rithmic charts, “Rebuild the bubble history” in the Big Trades settings recreates past bubbles from tick history (24 h, 3 d or 7 d).

What it is not

  • Not a disabled indicator: the line appears precisely because Big Trades is on.
  • Not an absence of large orders: it is a display or data condition.

Frequently asked questions

Why do bubbles disappear on higher timeframes?
Because the number of trades in view grows. Above 120,000 the display pauses and asks you to zoom in; it resumes on its own below 100,000.
Why is the Auto threshold unavailable on some sources?
Auto calibration needs trade timestamps at 100 ms precision or better. With coarser ticks the chart shows “unavailable: tick precision > 100 ms”.
