Drawing properties panel, advanced settings and style presets

Selecting a drawing opens a compact floating toolbar with lock, delete, the drawing's quick style fields, an Advanced settings modal and a preset menu. The toolbar can be dragged anywhere and remembers its position.

What it does

The properties panel is a small dialog titled Drawing properties. It places itself outside the selected drawing's footprint so the handles stay reachable, at least 8 px from the window edges. A six-dot grip on its left edge is the drag handle: drag it and the panel stays where you leave it, in every later selection, as a proportion of the window size. Double-clicking the grip brings the panel back next to the drawing.

The body starts with two icon buttons — Lock (Lock in place — clicks inside pan the chart) and Delete (Delete this drawing (Delete key does the same)) — followed by the fields of the selected kind, then the Advanced settings button and the preset menu.

How to use it

  • Click a drawing. Change Color with the swatch, Width with the 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 3 px menu, Opacity with the percentage menu and the line style with — Solid, - - Dash or ··· Dot. Every change is applied immediately and is one undo step.
  • Open Advanced settings (gear icon) for the full form of the same properties, including the ones the quick bar leaves out (extend left and right, text background, band multipliers).
  • Save the current style: open the preset menu (Save / apply style preset), type a name in Save current style as… and confirm. An empty name is saved as Untitled. Presets are listed newest first for the same kind of drawing; click one to apply it, or use Delete preset.
  • Lock a drawing you do not want to move by accident; it stays selectable and editable through the panel.

Limits and pitfalls

  • A preset stores only style: colour, width, line style for lines; border colour, border width, style and fill colour for rectangles; colour, background, font size, bold and italic for text. It never stores prices, times or content.
  • Presets are kept in the browser storage of the app under senzoukria.drawingpresets.v1; they are not synchronised between machines.
  • The pinned position is saved in localStorage as proportions of the window, so it stays inside the window after a resize, but it is shared by every drawing kind.
  • For an alert line, the colour field is available but the renderer always paints the line amber and dashed; the panel shows the note Beeps on cross.

Frequently asked questions

The panel opened far from my drawing. How do I bring it back?
The panel has been pinned by a previous drag. Double-click the six-dot grip: the saved placement is cleared and the panel returns next to the selected drawing.
Can I apply a rectangle preset to a trend line?
No. Presets are filtered by kind: only presets saved from the same kind of drawing are listed in the menu, and only lines, rays, trend lines, rulers, rectangles and text have presets at all.
Why is there no Advanced settings button on a Long / Short drawing?
Trade drawings take their colours from the chart palette. The panel exposes Entry, Stop, Target, Fill and the R:R readout only.
