Chart settings: Visual tab
The Visual Settings tab of the chart's Footprint settings modal groups visibility toggles, numeric formats, chart colours, the footprint outline, the crosshair, cell colours, the footprint layer and axis highlights. Every value listed here is the shipped default.

What it does
The modal is titled "Footprint settings" and opens from the gear button on every footprint surface: Rithmic live, the NinjaTrader and Quantower bridges, crypto and replay share the same appearance store. The Visual Settings tab changes what is drawn and in which colours; it never touches data, indicators or trading guards.
Values are applied live to the chart as you change them and persisted on this machine. The colour section notes that every chart primitive is user-pickable and that the footprint cell state bar mirrors the candle body colour.

How to use it
Open the gear on the chart toolbar, stay on the first tab and change controls one by one; the chart behind the modal repaints as you go. Colours use the native colour picker and show their hex value beside the swatch. Paired colours (candle body, border, wick) have an UP and a DN swatch.
To keep a look you like, switch to the Templates Settings tab and save it under a name; to start again, use Reset to defaults there. Reset restores all toggles and formats but preserves magnet mode, which cycles with the magnet button.
Limits or pitfalls
- Front layer lifts the footprint above both profiles, which is the fix when HVN/LVN bands bury the candles, but the session POC, VAH and VAL lines then run underneath it; lowering node opacity in the Volume Profile settings keeps them visible.
- Bid/Ask and Delta cell types follow the Bid and Ask colours; the cell-colour section only affects volume, trades and plain-number cells.
- There is no light palette among the shipped themes because axis and label text comes from the application's dark theme, not from the chart snapshot.
- Settings are stored per machine in browser storage; a chart template is the way to move a style between setups.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I show more decimals on the price axis?
- Visual Settings → Numeric format → Price decimals. Auto infers the count from the data; 2, 4 or 8 decimals force it.
- The crosshair is invisible on my background. What now?
- In the Crosshair section pick a colour that contrasts with the background, raise the opacity (10–100%) and, if needed, the width up to 3 px. The default is white at 45%, dashed.
- Does Reset to defaults delete my templates?
- No. The confirmation says saved templates are kept; only the current configuration is replaced by factory defaults.
