Footprint Software With GEX: Data and Workflow Checklist
Combining footprint charts with gamma exposure lets you compare executed orderflow with an options-based model. The useful question is whether the data, timestamps and instruments fit your workflow. Having both panels in one application does not itself validate a trading signal.

Two inputs, two different questions
A footprint groups executed volume by price and aggressor classification. GEX combines option gamma, position-size inputs and sign assumptions. It is an estimate, not an observation of every dealer’s portfolio.
OIC’s gamma explanation describes how an option’s delta changes with the underlying. Turning that sensitivity into aggregate market exposure requires additional assumptions. A vendor should state those assumptions and its units.

Do not silently map an ETF or cash-index strike to the same numeric level on a futures chart. Document the mapping, contract and basis. A changed expiry selection can also move a modeled zero-gamma level.
A workflow you can evaluate
- Save the gamma snapshot and its assumptions before the session.
- Choose the exact underlying and any mapping to the traded future.
- Record executions and liquidity around the predefined area.
- Log both reactions and failures without moving the level afterwards.
- Evaluate a fixed rule with costs on later data.
A gamma wall is not guaranteed support. An absorption-like footprint at that level does not identify the participant or prove a hedge. Options flow supplies another observation layer, with its own coverage limits.
Compare total cost and operating effort
Add the software subscription, exchange data, options access and any historical service actually required. Check trial conditions, renewal terms and whether the relevant module is available in the chosen tier. Consult the software comparison for a repeatable evaluation method.

Review the GEX dashboard and footprint overview, checking which examples are simulated. A demonstration establishes how a view works, not the coverage of a live subscription. Continue with historical testing when you have a precise rule and the data to evaluate it.
Frequently asked questions
- Can footprint charts and GEX be used together?
- Yes. A footprint describes executed trades, while GEX estimates exposure from options data and positioning assumptions. Use the model as context and preserve the distinction between estimated exposure and observed transactions.
- Does GEX identify a guaranteed support or resistance level?
- No. Gamma concentrations and zero crossings depend on the model and snapshot. Price can cross them, and unrelated flows can dominate. A footprint response does not prove dealer hedging caused it.
- Does an integrated platform include every data subscription?
- Not necessarily. Check the software licence, futures data, exchange entitlements, options coverage and historical access separately. Senzoukria software pricing does not include all market-data fees.
- What should I check before mapping an options level onto futures?
- Check the underlying, expiry, timestamp, price units and basis between the instruments. An index or ETF strike is not automatically the same numeric price as a futures contract.
