Why can’t the app reuse the stored password for the test?

The stored password never leaves the vault toward the interface. The test takes the one you type, so nothing secret is echoed back to the screen.

A Rithmic connection profile without a saved password cannot connect, and the Test connection button needs the password typed again because the stored one never leaves the keychain. Edit the profile, type the password, then save or test.

What you see

On the connection card in Broker Connections, the Connect button is disabled and its tooltip reads “Save a password first (Edit)”. When you edit an existing profile and click “Test connection” with an empty password field, the form answers “Enter the password to run a connection test (the stored one never leaves the vault).”

While creating a profile, the form can also stop on “Pick a broker first.”, “Give this connection a name.”, “Username is required.”, “System name is required.”, “Gateway URL must start with wss://” or “Password is required.”

Why it happens

Credentials go straight into the operating system keychain and are never written to a file, a log or a screen. A profile whose password was never saved has nothing to log in with, so the app sends you to the editor instead of letting a connection fail a second later. The test is a real login that uses what is in the form; the stored password is not read back into the page, which is why it must be typed again for a test.

How to fix it

Open Account → Broker Connections, click Edit on the card, type the password and click “Save changes”. The Connect button becomes available.
To test an existing profile, type the password in the form and click “Test connection”. “Login OK — credentials are valid.” confirms it.
Use the platform credentials your broker issued, which are often not the ones of their website.
Tick “Connect automatically at startup” if you want the profile to connect when the app opens.

What it is not

Not a lost password: saved credentials stay in the keychain until you remove the profile.
Not a broker refusal: nothing was sent to the broker yet.

When to contact support

When none of this helps, write to support through Menu → Report a problem or on the Senzoukria Discord. If the password is saved and the button stays disabled, mention your operating system: the profile relies on its keychain (Windows Credential Manager on Windows).
