“Alpaca API keys required” or “Options data key required” on the GEX page

What you see

The GEX or Option Flow page shows a full-screen empty state with “Open API keys”. In 0.46.0: “Options data key required” and “Add a key for an options data source (Tradier, Alpaca…) to load the GEX dashboard.” (or “the Option Flow feed”). In 0.45.0: “Alpaca API keys required”, even with a Tradier token saved and marked “Token saved”.

Why it happens

In 0.45.0 both pages asked the vault a single question: is an Alpaca key present? The source picker that would have switched to Tradier lives in the page header, rendered only after that check, so without an Alpaca key the page could never be reached. The Tradier backend itself worked.

0.46.0 reads every options key. It keeps your saved source unless the vault explicitly says its key is gone, then falls back in this order: Tradier, Alpaca, and for GEX Market Data. Databento is never chosen automatically because it is billed per use; ThetaData needs a local terminal and is kept only if you chose it.

How to fix it

• Update to 0.46.0 or later (Account → Versions).
• Click “Open API keys” and save a Tradier token, Alpaca keys, or a Market Data token. Closing the key manager re-checks and opens the page.
• Pick the chain source in the GEX header, “More options” menu → “Option chain source”.

What it is not

• Not a missing Senzoukria feature: the page is gated only by the presence of a key.
• Not a rejected key: key validity is tested when data is requested.
